About Trinity Academic

Our Story

Trinity Academic began with a conversation — and a conviction that has shaped everything since: the global Church doesn’t need more outside experts. It needs its own leaders equipped to lead.

Our Origin

It Started With Listening

In 2017, our founder sat with church leaders in Cuba — leaders who had spent years watching well-meaning outsiders come and go, dropping off programs and curricula that rarely outlasted the missionary’s visa. Their message was direct:

Stop sending us your leaders. Help us raise our own.

That single conversation reframed everything. Trinity Academic wasn’t founded as a missions organization exporting a model — it was founded as a partner committed to building what was already present: local conviction, local calling, and local leadership waiting for the tools and training to grow.

Since then, that principle — indigenous leadership over imported solutions — has guided every partnership we’ve built, across more than 40 countries.

Our Conviction

Why Indigenous Leadership

Foreign missionaries can plant a seed. They cannot always stay to tend it for a generation. Imported curricula can inform. They cannot always speak the cultural language a community needs to hear.

Trinity Academic exists on the conviction that lasting transformation in Christian higher education comes from equipping the leaders God has already placed within a culture — not replacing them. Every program we build is designed to put local leaders in the driver’s seat, with Trinity Academic providing the strategic, technological, and academic support to help them go further, faster.

Where We Stand Today

A Global Partnership, Still Growing

What began with one conversation in Cuba has grown into a network spanning more than 40 countries, a partnership with Southwestern Seminary that has produced over 800 MTS graduates, and a current expansion effort — GCAT — reaching institutions in Nigeria, Malaysia, Taiwan, the Philippines, and India.

The work looks different in every country. The conviction behind it has never changed: equip the leaders who are already there.
